We didn't plan for the alpacas to be the main attraction. But here we are.
Huey, Dewey and Louie joined Gosswood in the summer of 2020. They live in the field next to the camping pitches, which means they spend most of the day watching campers make breakfast, which is just as entertaining for them as it is for everyone else.
A few things to know:
- They're curious, not shy. If you stand by the fence quietly, they'll come over.
- Don't feed them. We've got it covered, and alpaca diets are specific.
- They hum. Alpacas communicate by humming. If you hear it at dusk, that's them.
- Louie is the leader. He's the biggest and the most chatty. Dewey is the shy one. Huey is somewhere in between.
Bring a camera. The lighting on the pitches is particularly good at golden hour and they tend to line up along the fence.
